Executive committee approves consent items, forwards state funding resolution and authorizes property sale; several budget items advanced

The Marathon County Executive Committee approved a slate of procedural and substantive items during its meeting, carrying several motions unanimously and forwarding a draft resolution to the full county board with one abstention.
The committee voted to approve routine minutes from its Aug. 13 meeting and to accept recommended new and expanded positions for inclusion in the county administrator's proposed 2026 budget. Both motions carried unanimously.
Members also voted unanimously to recommend a partial historic-landmark designation for the stone wing of East Case Hall in the City of Wausau, and to approve the 2026 capital improvement program (CIP) project list. The committee authorized listing and auction of county-owned property at 529 McClellan Street in Wausau, with proceeds designated to support Northcentral Healthcare's debt service obligations; that motion carried unanimously.
On a separate motion, the committee voted to forward a resolution calling on the state of Wisconsin to provide funding to counties to support required additional administrative functions for income-maintenance programs (such as SNAP eligibility). Supervisor Hart moved the resolution to the full county board; Chair Gibbs seconded. Supervisor Poole abstained; the motion otherwise passed.
