City transportation and public works leaders told the City Council on Aug. 26 that Santa Rosa is preparing to award and deliver a large volume of capital projects this fiscal year — “well into nine figures,” Director of Transportation and Public Works Dan Hennessy said — but also flagged a missed deadline for the Bennett Valley Golf Course irrigation pond.
Hennessy and newly announced Deputy Director of Engineering Services Krista Seigenthaler briefed council on progress across the capital improvement program (CIP). Staff reported 15 projects have been successfully bid so far in 2025; another 5 are out to bid and about 11 more are expected before December. Combined, projects currently out to bid and under award total tens of millions of dollars, and the department projects more awards through the fiscal year that will push annual contract values into the hundreds of millions.
