The board recorded the measure as passed by voice vote.
The board also approved additional parishwide air-conditioning upgrades in the amount of $750,000, to be paid from remaining proceeds of the 2023 bond issue. The finance committee brought the recommendation forward and the board approved it by voice vote.
On personnel compensation, the board adopted the 2025–26 salary schedule. Superintendent Holly and staff noted the schedule includes two state-requested stipends: a $1,000 support stipend and a $2,000 certified stipend expected to be disbursed around Sept. 18–19 if state funding is available. The board also noted that a separate salary increase item from recent legislation (additional amounts subject to an April 2026 voter decision) is a voter question and not part of the adopted schedule. The adoption motion was made by Mr. R. Shield and seconded by Mr. Shirley; the board approved the schedule by voice vote.
The board’s policy committee recommended three policy revisions and the board voted to approve all three and waive the usual waiting periods: revision of policy file IFA (instructional materials), IFBGA (student computer and Internet use) and JBD (student absences and excuses). Each passed by voice vote.
Votes on agenda adoption and minutes for the previous meeting were also taken by voice vote and accepted earlier in the meeting. The transcript does not record roll-call tallies for these items.
