According to the resolution and remarks read at the meeting, the changes preserve dual providers (Mercy and the provider listed in materials as "SSMD") and retain a healthy-employee incentive program. The resolution requires a 6% premium contribution from full-time employees who participate in the wellness program and a 10% contribution from those who do not. Additional plan-design changes described in meeting materials include adjustments to the deductible and coinsurance; those technical changes were summarized in the resolution text presented to supervisors.
Supervisor Townes said the recommendations come from an employee working group that spent nearly a year drafting proposals. County administration asked the board to adopt the changes to provide direction ahead of the administrator's budget preparations.
The measure passed unanimously by roll call. The resolution directs administrative implementation consistent with the plan changes detailed in the adopted materials.
