District recommends propane vendor after rebid; board asked to approve routes, drivers and vehicle lists
Summary
Transportation staff recommended the district stick with a propane vendor after rewording the bid; the rebid returned two proposals with a lower price and no large increase, and the board will be asked to approve driver lists, routes and related transportation items at Tuesday's meeting.

Under transportation updates, staff told the board they will request approval of vehicle and driver lists, routes, a propane fuel bid award and purchase of a Honda Civic for driver’s education at the next meeting.
Missus Circala and Mister Paul discussed the propane bid process. Knox Law assisted in rewording the bid; staff opened bids on the 18th and received two responses. Paul recommended the district “stick with more propane” (recommending the provider that best fit the district’s quantity needs). Board members asked whether the winning dollar amount was higher than previous years; staff said it had decreased overall. One board member noted the award decision involved a 1¢ difference and that other bidders included penalty provisions that affect the effective cost depending on whether the district purchases more or less fuel than contracted.
No formal award was made at this meeting; staff will present the recommended vendor and the other transportation agenda items for approval at the Tuesday meeting.
