Daisy site plan revised to meet FAA rule on stormwater; council approves plan changes

Planning staff said the FAA discourages long‑term ponding near airports because standing water can attract wildlife and increase bird‑strike risk. As a result, the revised plan will pump water out of the northeast detention area within the FAA’s 48‑hour window so the basin will remain dry after storms. Staff recommended approval of the changes and the council moved and approved the revised site plan on a roll call.
Why this matters: the revision responds to FAA safety guidance near the municipal airport and allows a large industrial site plan to move forward while addressing aviation safety concerns. Staff said the changes were mostly engineering adjustments to the stormwater system and did not require a full re‑review of the overall site plan.
