CDOT reports US 285 resurfacing complete in sections; Kings Valley interchange remains unfunded and on hold

A brief Colorado Department of Transportation update reported completed resurfacing work on U.S. 285 in the Conifer area and said a proposed grade-separation at the Kings Valley interchange remains unfunded and paused.
Marilyn Salzman delivered a CDOT summary prepared by Red Rocks resident engineer Tom DiNardo and project lead Jana Brink. She said a resurfacing project from Bailey to Pine Junction this year has smoothed the roadway and that resurfacing is planned in future projects for other segments.
Salzman showed a diagram of a potential grade separation at the U.S. 285–Kings Valley interchange and said the conceptual cost is about $70 million. The project remains on CDOT’s 10-year plan, she said, but there is no funding at present; design work and required utility relocations are on hold until funding becomes available.
