The Town of Cheektowaga Environmental Advisory Committee on Aug. 27 recommended a negative SEQR declaration for the project at 550 Cayuga, following confirmation that the applicant had obtained a height variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Committee members reviewed the project footprint and elevations. Town staff read an excerpt of county comments that recommended coordinating with the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA). The applicant confirmed the project footprint generally matches the existing building footprint; the highest roof peak noted on the plans was listed at 29 feet, 4 inches with typical roof heights around 22 feet, 7 inches.
After staff discussion and no further substantive comments from members present, a motion to recommend a negative SEQR declaration carried. The committee will forward the recommendation to the Town Board and noted that county and agency coordination (airport and NFTA) should continue as part of the review record.
The committee chair closed the meeting after the agenda items and noted that about five projects are expected for the September meeting agenda.
