Missus Wolf told the board the grants supported roughly 75 staff and totaled just over $9 million. Staff outlined intended outcomes through 2028, including raising overall attendance by 5 percentage points, improving third-grade reading by 4 percentage points, increasing ninth-grade "on track" rates toward 100% and boosting graduation rates by 3 percentage points from the 2023–24 baseline the district used for goal-setting.
Directors asked for clarification about baselines and how targets are measured; Wolf said the district uses the 2023–24 school year as the baseline and that targets are expressed in percentage-point increases. Board members discussed the consequences of not meeting targets—Wolf said the district would reset goals if a target was not met and that the reporting process requires establishing new objectives.
The presentation also noted other grant-funded activities, including professional development, social-emotional learning curriculum, counseling positions and high-dosage tutoring. Staff said the grants are intended to support attendance and achievement improvements tied to state requirements and the district’s strategic goals.
