Tonawanda council approves minutes, allows bills and awards $32,300 sidewalk change order

The City of Tonawanda Common Council unanimously adopted three routine resolutions during its meeting.
Councilmembers approved Resolution 1, to accept the Common Council minutes from Aug. 5, 2025, as filed. The motion was introduced by Councilmember Milam and seconded by Mr. Sheasley; a roll call recorded ayes by Cheesley; Ravin Stroud; Milam; and Cook, and the president declared the resolution adopted.
Resolution 2, to allow the bills as audited, was introduced by Councilmember Sheasley and adopted by roll call; the clerk recorded ayes and the resolution was declared adopted.
Resolution 3, presented at the recommendation of City Engineer Jason J. Lamonico, awarded the 2025 sidewalk replacement change order number 1 to Premier Concrete and Landscapes of Western New York at a cost not to exceed $32,300. The council recorded funding as $24,225 from CDBG funds and $8,075 from the capital budget. The motion (introduced by Councilmember Rautenstraum and seconded by Mr. Milam) passed on a roll call in which Cheesley, Rausch (recorded variously in the minutes), Milam and Cook voted aye; the president declared the resolution adopted.
No substantive public comment followed those resolutions at the time they were taken; the clerk then opened the floor for public comment later in the meeting and none was offered during that period. The sidewalk award directs city staff to proceed with the change order within the stated budget and funding sources.
