The Cullman County Schools board approved a series of routine items including minutes, personnel actions, contracts and policy updates in a single meeting session, with each motion passed by voice vote.
Board members unanimously approved the July 17 board minutes and a package of personnel recommendations (items 3–11), followed by school-request approvals (items 12–24). The board then approved two financial items (25–26), a special education contract (item 27), several additional contracts (item 28), a revised salary schedule for 2025–26 (item 29), the 2025–26 student handbook (item 30) and updated board policies (item 31). Each motion was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote; no opposition was recorded on the transcript.
Several newly appointed or reassigned staff introduced themselves after the personnel approvals, including Brady Harris, who said he is transferring from a school nursing position to an assistant lead nurse role, and Christie Harris, who said she has taken the district’s new pre-K director position. Superintendent Dr. Barnett made the recommendations on the personnel and financial items and the board adopted them by voice vote.
The meeting concluded with the superintendent’s report, including a reminder that the district had secured an $18 million grant to help expedite a new career center, and with an adjournment motion that passed by voice vote.
