Residents and local officials told the Beaver County Board of Commissioners during a work session on Aug. 13 that inspections and repeated comments from the conservation district have stalled construction at Lakeside Village and damaged property values.
Resident Janine Preston said the delays have stretched “since February” and are costing the neighborhood potential buyers. “We’re losing potential neighbors,” Preston said during the public-comment portion of the meeting. “Something actually needs to be done.”
Why it matters: Residents at the meeting said the hold-ups have left about 13 to 14 occupied homes amid a partially built development of many more lots, creating uncertainty about whether the project will be finished and who would cover infrastructure costs if the primary builder withdraws.
