The Town of Lakeville Board of Health voted Wednesday to approve a subsurface sewage disposal system upgrade at Full Water Street, granting three requested local upgrade approvals for an advanced treatment unit and associated reductions.
The approval covers an advanced treatment unit with a pump and pipe leaching field and three local upgrades: a reduction in required separation from seasonal high groundwater (from 5 feet to 3 feet), a local sizing adjustment, and a local reduction related to invert-to-groundwater separation. "We're asking for 3 local upgrade approvals," said Jamie Bissonette of Zenith Consulting Engineers. Bissonette described the system as an advanced treatment unit with a pump and pipe leaching field and said engineers had relied on U.S. Geological Survey–based calculations for seasonal high groundwater.
Health agent Ed (last name not specified in the record) said he had reviewed the revised plan and had no objections. "I reviewed it and I'm okay with it," Ed said. Board member Chris (last name not specified) noted the location was away from dense well fields and that the closest private well was more than 300 feet from the system.
The board asked the applicant to provide written confirmation of some equipment details. Bissonette said Zenith would confirm tank specifications and hoped to get documentation from J and R Sales about a low-profile ("LowPro") tank and minimum internal dimensions. "We'll reach out to Lauren at J and R Sales and confirm that there's the 10 inch minimum or that it meets the requirements for the fast unit," Bissonette said.
No members of the public asked to speak during the Water Street presentation. After discussion, a board member moved to approve the upgrade with the three local upgrades; a second was recorded and the board voted in favor with aye votes. The board recorded no additional conditions for this approval.
The meeting record shows the board aimed to document manufacturer specifications and site details as part of the file prior to completion of work.
