Delcovery app launches in Delaware County to map recovery and social services

County staff announced a public launch of Delcovery, a free mobile app and web-based directory of recovery and social services, at the Board of Supervisors meeting on April 9.
Amber (Delcovery project staff) said the app is available on Android and iOS and integrates a county website and social-media presence. "We do not require any kind of login. There is no information that we're collecting about individual people," Amber said, adding that the team will track anonymized usage metrics such as downloads and QR-code scans to measure uptake.
Why it matters: Delcovery centralizes contact, location and service information for providers and residents, including naloxone distribution sites, food pantries, hospitals and law enforcement links. Project staff said the launch is intended to make county resources easier to find for people in recovery and for residents seeking general services.
Project staff demonstrated the app's map and resource filters and noted printed materials for distribution: business-card QR codes, postcards, posters for concentrated-service villages (Delhi, Margaretville, Sidney, Walton) and a larger county map pending delivery. Amber said staff will keep the database current through quarterly reviews and more frequent updates as needed.
Funding and partnerships: a presenter said the project was funded through opioid settlement money. The team explained the county is discussing expanded integrations for future phases, including transportation information with GetThere and outreach to neighboring counties. Staff said a one-year grant funds current operations and they are preparing a proposal to continue funding in the next year.
Board and staff reaction: Supervisors and staff said they have begun downloading the app and that the project team will meet with school superintendents, town boards and nonprofit partners to increase adoption and gather feedback. Project staff asked board members to provide suggestions for additional resources to include.
Ending: Staff said Delcovery is now live on the App Store and Google Play and invited the public and partner agencies to test and provide feedback.
