Staff described the pending hearing as a request for continuance to allow additional time to consider certification of a final environmental impact report (EIR), adoption of a mitigation monitoring and reporting program, and findings including a statement of overriding considerations, as well as actions on design review, a density bonus, a demolition permit and a parcel merger associated with the project. The project application as described by staff would demolish an existing single‑family residence and construct 50 apartment units, including 13 affordable units.
Commissioners moved and seconded the continuance to allow work on the environmental documents and project details; the motion passed by unanimous roll call (Commissioners Nugent, O’Neil and Barnett and Chair Don Bach voted yes). The public‑hearing continuance schedules staff return and further public notice for Sept. 18.
