The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners voted Aug. 19 to adopt a resolution authorizing a two-year agreement with Everbridge for the county's mass-notification system, county staff said. The memo presented to the board lists a total two-year cost of $109,715.56 and notes a projected cost reduction of $6,582.94 by committing to a multi-year contract.
County staff said the system is used to send time-sensitive alerts to residents, visitors and others about missing persons, evacuations, law-enforcement notices, severe weather and water-and-sewer advisories. Steven Pereira, director of technology services, told the board staff recommended awarding the subscription to Everbridge and authorized staff to exercise available renewal options and to coordinate implementation with the Department of Finance and Budget, the Department of Public Safety and the county attorney.
