Elections staff member Tandy told the court nine entities had confirmed participation in the county’s consolidated ballot; two additional entities were deciding and had until the statutory deadline (the following Monday) to call their elections. Tandy said the county needed the court to execute the contract so the county could provide election services to the participating entities and reduce per‑entity costs.
During the meeting the court also noted an email the state received indicating the county’s voter‑registration vendor had told the state it intended to close. Tandy later reported that an email from the vendor that morning stated it would not close as of that date, but the situation remained unsettled and county staff said they were preparing contingencies.
The court approved the contract by voice vote. The presiding official and staff said they would continue preparations and be available after 4 p.m. the same day to coordinate next steps with elections staff.
