At the Aug. 4 meeting, Colette (staff member) reviewed proposed edits developed by the commission and staff after an ad hoc working group compiled community outreach findings and draft rubric language. The changes agreed to by the commission include: renaming “focus groups” to “small groups” in the outreach documentation; maintaining the current jury selection process (with recommendations coming from community entities rather than being sourced solely by staff); clarifying the jury panel’s scope of work and continuing the jury’s rubric scoring; removing an online public survey as a required input while keeping multiple public input channels; and adding a public display period in civic buildings showing large photos and artist statements…
