Kossuth County supervisors approve agenda, minutes and routine claims

The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors on July 29 unanimously approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from the board’s July 22 meeting, and approved two routine claims during the opening portion of the meeting.
Supervisors first voted to adopt the day’s agenda and to approve last week’s minutes after a motion by Supervisor Wachter, seconded by Supervisor Garman. The board then approved a handwritten claim that auditors flagged for postage, described in the packet as $10,000 to the reserve account for postage; that motion was moved by Supervisor Stecker and seconded by Supervisor Wachter. Later in the meeting supervisors also approved routine repair requests and other claims brought forward under drainage business.
The board took the votes by voice; the clerk recorded the motions as carried. No separate public comment took place on the motions.
Supporting details: the agenda approval and the handwritten-claims motions appear in the board packet and were moved and seconded on the record before voice votes concluded “motion carried.”
The board proceeded to later business including a drainage reconsideration, multiple drainage-related hearings and a solar-ordinance review with the county attorney and zoning staff.
