Board hears progress reports on wells, tanks and pipeline work including Dixie Springs tank prep

A staff speaker said crews finished the concrete launch vault at 1300 South and have completed paving and collar work on several road segments, and crews were starting maintenance work along 920. At the ponds crews were forming concrete around inlets and outlets.
Ghost Watch Well experienced drilling difficulty when crews encountered hard rock; staff said contractors set a 48-inch plastic casing and poured concrete to create a stable base so the drill rig can resume and the foam-based tailings process will function. The rig was back on site and drilling had resumed.
Dixie Springs tank work is nearing concrete prep for the tank bottom; pipeline crews began tying into the tank corridor and had several pipeline sticks installed on the easement, staff said. The pump and motor for the Dixie Springs well are expected in August; staff said the plan is to have the tank filled and start using its water once the pump is installed so the district can reduce purchases from the outside supplier in that area.
Sky Ranch well had not started drilling but was reported "getting close" to mobilization. Staff also noted work at other sites including tie-ins and irrigation infrastructure preparatory work.
No formal votes were recorded on these project updates; board members asked operational questions about schedule, procurement and coordination with contractors and the board encouraged staff to track delivery dates for critical equipment such as the Dixie Springs pump and motor.
