Acting as drainage trustees July 21, Wright County supervisors approved several drainage invoices and work orders, scheduled a public hearing on repairs and received a petition to reclassify a lateral in DD194.
The trustees approved four work orders affecting DD36 (Lateral A and Sub 1), DD219 and DD10 for beaver-dam removal, broken tile, collapsed culvert and washouts. They approved invoices for public hearing mailings (Webster County Auditor $11.38; Wright County Monitor $71.26; Eagle Grove Eagle $82.24) and an invoice to Aaron Brothers Tiling for repairs in Range District 232 (approximately $920). The trustees set a public hearing on Sept. 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to consider repairs needed to DD62 (open ditch).
Trustees also received a reclassification petition filed by a landowner (Marilyn/Marilyn Lerman referenced) for DD194 lateral 1b seeking to change benefit classifications. Because that lateral was reclassified in November 2021 (split into lateral 1a, 1b and 1c), trustees expressed concern that reopening classification may prompt similar petitions countywide. The trustees voted to receive the petition and table further action until they obtain guidance from the drainage attorney and the engineer who performed the 2021 project.
