County facilities staff told commissioners that a gas line repair is needed at a county facility after Atmos identified a leak in May and that most contractors contacted were either unavailable or unable to quote the work.
“I'm just worried that it's gonna get on wintertime, and we're not gonna have any gas for the heat over there,” Dustin, county facilities staff, said of the timeline pressure. Dustin reported receiving one formal quote from Montezuma Valley Plumbing; the work is under $11,000 and would require county approval because it is not in the current budget.
Separately Dustin requested purchase of replacement light fixtures for showers in the sheriff’s detention center. He said two suppliers returned quotes; the fixtures are 2-foot LED vandal-resistant housings (two 1-foot fixtures for two showers and the remainder 2-foot units) with replaceable drivers and polycarbonate covers. The county paid a $100 per-vehicle/permit fee for another item in the meeting; for the lights Dustin said the procurement will come from capital funds tied to a remodel project.
Commissioners indicated they expected to take both purchases to the formal decision agenda the following day.
