City Manager (staff) told council the infrastructure supporting law enforcement and first responders is aging and not fully interoperable across agencies. “We’re very close to having some documents and actions ready to come to our various governing bodies regarding a new governance structure,” staff said of a proposed countywide communications system to serve law enforcement, fire, AMR and public works. Staff said the project will require multiagency cost-sharing and the city’s share of cost will be brought to council when ready.
