The grant provides up to $60,000 toward an outdoor fitness kit and a mural wall; total project cost estimates run from about $150,000 to $180,000, Daley said. The planning office proposes siting the equipment near the existing playground area so parents can supervise children while using the fitness elements. Daley said the grant includes an additional $5,000 stipend to support a local artist for a mural competition on the fitness wall and that county match funding would come from monies already allocated within the Stellar program fund.
Commissioner Kathy moved to allow Daley to apply for the 2026 fitness grant; the motion passed.
