MADISON, Wis. — WRTP Bigstep told a Dane County committee on Aug. 12 that its “Pave Your Path” program has recorded 86 intake forms and provided pre‑apprenticeship services to justice‑impacted people both inside and outside the county jail.
“We are a workforce intermediary,” Toni White, chief operating officer at WRTP Bigstep, said as she opened the presentation. White described the nonprofit’s training pipeline for construction trades and said the group serves individuals who are justice impacted, providing life‑skills coaching, aptitude testing and tutoring, and navigation to apprenticeship partners.
The organization reported that 51 people participated in in‑custody services and 35 participated in out‑of‑custody services during the January–June reporting period. “We have provided, 86 individuals have completed our intake forms,” White said. Those out‑of‑custody services include a pre‑apprenticeship training run in partnership with Madison College.
