Santa Clara committee hears arts, sports and cultural proposals to leverage 2026 FIFA and Super Bowl events

The City of Santa Clara Economic Development and Marketing Committee on a community workshop reviewed a slate of arts, cultural and sports proposals intended to raise the city's profile ahead of FIFA and Super Bowl events in 2026.

Committee staff framed the meeting as an initial, community-driven prioritization exercise; Elicia Knight, director of economic development and sustainability for the city, told attendees staff will “take today's feedback and recommendations to inform the pursuit of the city-led events and partnerships” and then evaluate feasibility, venues and resource needs.
