The South Lyon City Council on July 28 approved fiscal-year 2024–25 budget amendments presented by the finance director that adjust general-fund expenditures and cemetery perpetual-care accounts.
Finance Director Patricia (last name not provided in the meeting record) presented amendments totaling $129,725 in general-fund expenditures, $2,565 in Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund revenues and $14,505 in Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund expenditures. Council member Hanson moved to approve the proposed amendments and Council member Bogart seconded; the motion passed by roll-call vote with yes votes recorded from the council members present.
Council member Kurzweil asked why one of the previously discussed items — installation fees related to furnace/AC units donated by Heinemann Engineering — was only now appearing in this set of amendments. The finance director said she delayed a midyear amendment earlier to avoid multiple, piecemeal requests and to combine items so the council would receive a single amendment package for the period.
Kurzweil also asked for an updated revenue page in future amendments; the finance director said the cemetery perpetual-care revenue page was already provided in a prior meeting packet and that general-fund changes in the current amendment were expenditure adjustments tied to the year-close work.
Council approved the package by roll-call vote. The finance director noted the city will present audited fiscal-year results to the council next month in advance of formal audit completion.
