CalPERS announces Oct. 13–15 educational forum in Palm Desert; reports positive Pathways for Women survey results

A CalPERS staff member told the California Public Employees' Retirement System board on Oct. 26 that the agency's educational forum is scheduled for Oct. 13–15 in Palm Desert and that approximately 1,000 employers were registered as of the meeting.
The staff member also reported results from the Pathways for Women conference held in August. Of attendees surveyed, 31% responded; among those respondents, 99% agreed sessions addressed issues important to them, 95% said sessions were helpful to their career growth, and 98% rated the experience as excellent or good. Eighty-eight percent of surveyed attendees said they would participate in future Pathways for Women events.
The staff member characterized the survey results as "overwhelmingly positive" and closed the brief report by inviting questions. The board did not take formal action on the announcements during the remarks.
