Superintendent and staff noted the state report card uses six components—achievement, progress, gap closing, graduation, early literacy and a new college-career-workforce measure—and said the district will unpack component results and compare them with similar districts in the coming week. Staff told the board that although fewer districts earned five stars this year (47, down from 67 last year), Centerville maintained its five‑star status.
Board members and administrators thanked teachers, support staff and the community for the results and encouraged a brief celebration before continuing work to support students across the district.
The board presentation noted the five‑star rating also triggers a performance guarantee payment included in the district's forecast for the biennium; staff said that payment is included in the forecast for two years while its long-term availability remains uncertain.
