The Centerville City School District Board of Education voted unanimously at its meeting to approve a set of routine and required financial and personnel items, including August 2025 financial statements, a revised certificate of estimated resources, permanent appropriations for fiscal year 2026 and the district's financial forecast for FY2026 through FY2029 for submission to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
Board members took the votes in a series of motions near the end of the meeting. The board approved the August 2025 financial statements and several monthly reports and purchase orders certified by the treasurer. The board then approved the FY2026 revised certificate of estimated resources in the amount of $251,218,791 and adopted permanent appropriations totaling $186,383,184.72.
Treasurer and administrative staff had presented the forecast and assumptions earlier in the meeting; trustees then moved to submit the required forecast and underlying assumptions to the state. The board approved personnel recommendations on multiple schedules (resignations, employment and supplemental contracts) and granted leaves and determinations listed in the personnel schedules presented to the board.
Trustees also approved transportation-related items for the 2025–26 school year and a resolution authorizing payment for certain out-of-district special-education placements, following the board's review and the required evaluation steps under Ohio law.
After completing the public business, the board voted to adjourn into an executive session to consider the employment or compensation of public employees; the board stated no business would be conducted during that executive session except returning to open session.
Votes were recorded on the record by roll call for each motion. The roll-call responses recorded in the minutes contained board member responses such as "Yes" from the trustees present across the recorded votes.
