Muscatine council approves $5.115 million sewer bond, airport grants and multiple capital and grant allocations

Muscatine City Council on Aug. 21 approved a series of resolutions and spending items, including the issuance of $5,115,000 in general obligation annual appropriation sewer improvement bonds and several airport and local capital grants and contracts.

The council adopted the bond resolution after a public hearing on a proposed general-obligation annual-appropriation sewer improvement loan and disbursement agreement. The hearing drew no public comment; the council then moved to close the hearing and adopted the resolution providing for the bonds and the levy of taxes subject to non‑appropriation. The motion passed unanimously.
