Saint Helena Planning Commission elects Warner chair, Furdick vice chair; Camaro retained as secretary

The Saint Helena Planning Commission on Aug. 19 elected Vice Chair Warner as chair, named Commissioner Sue Furdick vice chair and voted to retain Ms. Camaro as the commission secretary.
The nominations were put forward and approved by roll call. Commissioners Furdick, Lopez, Anderson, Covell and Vice Chair Warner recorded affirmative votes on the three items; no formal objections were recorded. Commissioner Covell had earlier abstained on a separate minutes-approval vote because she had not attended the June 17 meeting.
The newly elected chair and vice chair—identified in the meeting as Vice Chair Warner and Commissioner Sue Furdick—each accepted the officer roles when the commission recorded the vote. The commission also approved a motion to designate Ms. Camaro to continue serving as commission secretary.
Chair Warner opened remarks after the votes by stressing that commissioners not holding officer titles remained “equally involved and responsible” to support the commission’s work. Commissioners and staff also used the agenda-item discussion to remind members of expectations for collegial participation and to confirm that staff support and assignments would continue under the new leadership.
No other formal policy actions or ordinance votes were taken as part of the leadership nominations. The election and secretary designation were procedural items that will govern future commission proceedings.
