The Madison County School Board voted unanimously to renew its contract with Navigate360 for suicide risk assessment and behavioral case-management services, adding a 90-day written notice exit clause after members raised concerns about the vendor's original multi-year cancellation terms.
Coach Williams, who presented the item, said the district already uses Navigate360's suicide-risk tool (the state-required risk instrument) and will add case-management modules to better track and assist students with behavioral needs. Williams said the contract would be paid from the district's mental-health allocation.
Several board members and staff expressed concern that the vendor's standard contract locked the district into three years before cancellation was allowed. The board negotiated the addition of an exit clause that would allow termination with 90 days' written notice; the motion passed 5-0. "This is the suicide risk assessment that houses the actual risk tool that the state requires us to use," Williams said during the presentation.
Action details: motion to accept renewal of Navigate360 with addition of a 90-day exit clause (mover Miss Knight, second Miss Hagan) — passed 5-0.
Ending: Staff said it will finalize the revised contract language with Navigate360 and return executed documents to the board file; the platform will remain in place to support threat and suicide-risk assessment continuity.
