Saint Paul honors Downtown Improvement District ambassadors for downtown safety and hospitality

The Saint Paul City Council adopted a resolution (25‑1196) recognizing the Saint Paul Downtown Improvement District ambassadors and dispatchers for their work keeping downtown Saint Paul safe, clean and welcoming.
Council President Naker read the resolution noting ambassadors wear bright neon vests and "provide vital on‑the‑ground support to city workers, downtown businesses, and community partners, removing litter, assisting with directions, helping those in need" and cited their work during recovery periods. A representative of the Downtown Alliance thanked the council and said five ambassadors have moved into downtown since being hired and the program has hired graduates of local workforce programs.
Two ambassadors, Bree (Britney) and Mustafa, spoke briefly about their work and backgrounds and were thanked by council members who emphasized the visibility and community impact of front‑line workers. Councilmembers described the role as important to perceptions of downtown safety and vitality and unanimously adopted the resolution. "One small team like this can make such a huge, huge impact," Councilmember Provoatzky said.
The council presented tokens of appreciation and scheduled a formal recognition ceremony the following week when ambassadors would receive personalized certificates.
