Manatee schools honor lifesaving athletic trainer and students with perfect state test scores

The district also honored students who earned perfect scores on the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST). Jamie Parkerson, director of communications, said only 187 students statewide earned perfect scores last spring. Several Manatee County students attended the board meeting for recognition; staff said one student, Lucas, achieved two perfect scores including a perfect result on an eighth‑grade mathematics assessment while in sixth grade.
District staff presented certificates and a short celebratory video for students who could not attend. Board members and the superintendent lauded the students and staff for the achievement.
No formal board action was required for the recognitions.
