A county representative said the agreement is a continuation of an ongoing arrangement and that the contract supports an application for federal funds. The commission was told the interlocal agreement pays $99,600 and takes effect retroactively on Jan. 1 and extends through June 30, 2026.
A motion to approve the interlocal agreement carried unanimously.
County staff said the monthly equivalent had previously been represented as a recurring payment to handle Price City's indigent defense needs; the agreement formalizes those payments and helps Price City document local support for federal funding applications.
