USARA representatives were present and had previously presented at a county meeting. Commissioners and staff said declining future settlements make multi-year guarantees difficult; the commission said funding decisions for subsequent years will require annual requests and further review of available receipts. One commissioner recommended approving $75,000 for USARA this year and directing remaining uncommitted funds back through 4 Corners Health Department and other local partners.
A motion to approve the $75,000 allocation to USARA carried. The commissioners asked for an invoice from USARA to process payment and said the organization must report back annually on fund use, similar to other grantees.
USARA representatives thanked the commission and confirmed they will submit required documentation.
