The chair told attendees the items would most likely be deferred to the September 3 meeting if a full quorum could not be achieved and noted scheduling conflicts were the cause. “We had kind of a lot of people unavailable tonight,” the chair said, adding that in eight years on the commission they had not previously experienced a missed quorum.
Shortly before the meeting was formally postponed, the chair repeated that the session would be pushed and again apologized for the inconvenience. The commission gave the specific rescheduling information — September 3 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall — as the date and time for handling the deferred items.
No substantive discussion or votes on agenda items took place because the commission could not legally proceed without a quorum. The chair closed the session after announcing the postponement and thanking those who attended.
