Bonner County reallocates $100,000 in solid waste budget to repairs and vehicle maintenance

The Bonner County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Resolution 2025-50 to reallocate $100,000 in the solid waste budget to address maintenance and repair needs.
Jessica, the county comptroller, introduced the claims earlier and the solid waste director told the board the reallocation moves $60,000 to site repairs and maintenance (account 0237530), $38,000 to vehicle maintenance and repairs (account 0237040) and $2,000 to tipping floor maintenance (account 0237423). The director said the transfers will allow the department to complete necessary repairs during the fiscal year and noted the change was reviewed by legal, auditing and risk.
The director outlined examples of work covered by the reallocation: installing a culvert for stormwater mitigation at a site that flooded last year; concrete repair and replacement of eco blocks and walls at sites including Duford and Dickensheet; and setting aside funds for tipping floor repairs where concrete walls and surfaces are wearing and could become safety hazards.
The board moved and approved the resolution. The motion on the record read: "Based on the information before us, I move to approve resolution number 2025-50: the reallocation of $100,000 from line item 023-9470, capital land improvements to the following line items $60,000 to 023-7530, $38,000 to 023-7040 and $2,000 to 023-7423." Roll call recorded the motion as passing.
