EMS district OKs auction of surplus filing system, hears revenue and TIF updates

At a separate session acting as the Ada County Emergency Medical Services District, commissioners on Aug. 5 approved Resolution No. 3108 to offer a surplus Space Saver high‑density filing system for auction after procurement outreach to county departments.

Commissioner Daley asked whether the equipment had been offered to other county departments before auction; staff said procurement routinely offers surplus items to other departments before auctioning them. "Our procurement always does that, but before we actually auction an item off, always, offers [it] to any other county department," staff said.

The board also approved two EMS agreements: a business associate agreement between Ada County Emergency Medical Services District and Dark Horse Emergency LP, and an attendance agreement with Mason Hall for Idaho State University’s paramedic program. Both motions carried by voice vote.

Sean (last name not provided) delivered a financial update for the EMS district, saying projected revenue goals would be met and likely exceeded. "As of today, we'll have 12,500,000.0," he said, noting the office expects to end the year closer to $14 million due in part to outsourcing billing. He also reported progress on submitting GMT data and said a related payment for FY23 is expected in December; subsequent submissions are scheduled so future payments would align more closely to the fiscal year.

The board also discussed outreach to urban renewal districts about removing the county from certain TIF arrangements; staff said some districts had declined and the county would compile a report for legislative leadership once the process completed.

The district session adjourned after routine votes and the financial briefing.
