District finance and food-service staff told the committee they plan to transition online payments from MySchoolBucks to Easy SchoolPay ahead of the school year, citing lower fees, real-time processing and improved customer support.
Mark Adams, a district staff member, said MySchoolBucks proposed a $3.50 per-transaction fee for 2025–26 and previously restricted single deposits to $150. He said Easy SchoolPay charges $2.75 per transaction, places no cap on deposit size and provides real-time updates so parents see money on accounts immediately.
Adams said the district’s food-service administrative platform, identified in the meeting as eHare Solutions, integrates with Easy SchoolPay; the district will migrate balances and fees collected on MySchoolBucks to the new service and lock MySchoolBucks accounts once migration begins. He also said other fees and store items (such as PSAT and SAT payments) will transition to Easy SchoolPay.
Staff said MySchoolBucks has been informed of the plan and the district will work with communications staff to notify families and provide support during the change. Committee members asked whether existing balances and scheduled items would transfer; Adams said balances will be transferred and the district will freeze MySchoolBucks before school starts to avoid confusion.
Why it matters: Lower transaction fees and real-time account visibility can reduce costs for families who make frequent deposits and improve administrative reconciliation for the district. The transition will require communications to families and brief training/support for school staff and parents.
