The Board of Civil Service Trustees for the City of Las Vegas met July 23 and approved the minutes of its July 9 regular meeting, certified eligible lists for four open positions and voted to abolish the eligible list for Accounting Technician 2. The board also announced that, effective Aug. 11, 2025, some board and commission meetings will temporarily be held in the public meeting room on the second floor of Civic Center Building A at 525 South Main Street.
The actions affect applicants for city employment and the administrative records that guide hiring. The certified lists cover Administrative Support Assistant (open); Community Program Technician (grant-funded, open); Human Resources Technician (open); and Recreation Coordinator (open). The board voted to abolish the eligible list for Accounting Technician 2.
Chair Brown called the meeting to order and confirmed a quorum with Vice Chair Poncello, Member Stamper and Member Monticello present; Members Clemens and Hesch were listed as excused. Lou Anne D. Holmes, city clerk, noted where agenda backup materials are available and provided the clerk's office address and website.
On the first formal action, Member Stamper moved to approve the final minutes of the July 9, 2025 regular meeting; the motion carried. A subsequent motion to "certify eligible list for Administrative Support Assistant, open; Community Program Technician, grant funded position, open; Human Resources Technician, open; Recreation Coordinator, open" was moved and approved. The board then considered item No. 6, a motion to abolish the eligible list for Accounting Technician 2; Member Stamper moved the item and the motion carried. In each case the board recorded unanimous approval among members present.
The board made no substantive public comment on agenda items. Lou Anne D. Holmes, city clerk, told attendees that because of renovations to the City Council chambers, board and commission meetings will be temporarily held in the public meeting room on the second floor of Civic Center Building A, located at 525 South Main Street, across the street from City Hall; the clerk said city council, redevelopment agency and planning commission meetings will continue in council chambers. The board adjourned following the announcement.
