The Kearney City Council adopted Resolution No. 2025-81 authorizing the acquisition of multiple permanent utility easements from Fox Creek Development LLC as part of infrastructure work for the Arbor View Third and Fourth subdivisions.
Public Works Director Andy Harder told the council the package includes 18 easements to allow public utilities to serve the subdivisions. "There's 18 easements involved in this one, and, really, it's for electric utility, public utility to serve, the subdivision," Harder said. He also indicated one or two sanitary sewer easements are included in the group.
No members of the public addressed the council during public hearing number 2. The council closed the hearing and approved Resolution No. 2025-81 by roll call. The easements were identified as being granted by Timothy J. Norwood Sr., a member of Fox Creek Development LLC. Staff said the easements were brought forward now because the developer elected to provide service in this fashion rather than placing all easements on the plat.
The council did not record amendments or additional conditions in the meeting transcript.
