The Amador County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution recognizing the Amador Community Foundation’s 25 years of service and congratulating the foundation’s board, staff and volunteers.
The resolution notes the foundation was established in 2000 as a 501(c)(3) and credited the foundation with founding Amador’s Giving Tuesday, raising more than $3 million for local nonprofits, awarding more than $1.5 million in scholarships and granting “over $11,000,000 back into the Amador County community” since inception.
John Williamson, identified in the meeting as the foundation’s executive director, addressed the board and said, “We are just excited to, continue to grow this, foundation and help the community in a variety of ways.” Several board members and audience members praised long-serving volunteers and past leaders during a brief public recognition.
A motion to adopt the resolution passed 5-0.
The board and foundation paused for a photo after the vote and the board scheduled a formal presentation and staff remarks as part of the meeting record.
