Sumner County committee finalizes online application form, confirms two board appointments

The Sumner County Committee on Committees on Oct. 14 approved an online application form for county boards and committees and confirmed two appointments to local advisory panels.

The committee approved a mockup of a web form that will be posted on the county’s boards-and-committees webpage. The form asks applicants to upload a brief bio or resume and (at the request of Chairman Bergdorf) a copy of a driver’s license; staff said the form can also collect a recent utility bill as additional proof of residency. The committee agreed to include a checkbox informing applicants that submitted materials are subject to public-record requests.

Committee members said the form will route submitted applications automatically to the chair of the Committee on Committees and can be distributed to other committee members by email. County staff said they will post known vacancies on the webpage once the committee compiles a list of expired seats.
