Council approved the installation under permit ZCPA-2025-001 with a required cease-and-desist clause that would be triggered if town assets are damaged after installation. The property owner must also install signs warning not to block the sidewalk and that cars blocking the sidewalk are subject to fees and towing. Council members said the manufacturer's mounting studs are designed to break away if struck, leaving relatively minor pavement repairs.
