Township and county disagree over sewer line under police building addition; trustees ask staff to investigate

The county’s letter indicates the county cannot locate permits for the work and is asking the township to sign a release that would transfer long‑term maintenance responsibility for the line to the township. Staff told trustees the line begins near the intersection of Bonney Vale and Walnut Ponds Court, leaves the dedicated right‑of‑way and runs through Bridgewater Church property before entering Shakers Run Park and the township property.
Trustees said they did not want the township to inherit responsibility for a line that serves other properties or for which the county had not provided clear documentation. They directed the administrator to arrange meetings with the project manager for the original construction and the engineer who prepared plans to determine exactly what pipe segment the county expects the township to take responsibility for and what other options exist.
No action was taken at the meeting; staff said they would report back after meeting with the project manager and the county engineer.
