Fairfield Township trustees approve donations, maintenance acceptance and several purchase orders

At its Aug. 14 meeting the Fairfield Township Board of Trustees voted to accept donated equipment, approve routine maintenance acceptance and authorize several purchase orders and resolutions.
The board unanimously adopted the consent agenda and then approved separate motions to accept an in‑kind grant, accept a short new street for township maintenance, adopt a 12‑month natural gas aggregation agreement and approve two purchase orders related to records scanning and public record retention.
The board accepted a Firehouse Subs Public Safety grant that provided eight thermal imaging cameras, chargers and accessories valued by staff at $19,997. Administrator Dempsey asked the board to accept the donation; the motion passed on roll call. Trustees recorded their votes on the record as part of the roll call.
The trustees also approved acceptance of street maintenance for Shula’s (section 10) — a short new street (Nikki Court) — for township maintenance.
The board adopted Resolution 25‑1‑13 to authorize the administrator to enter a natural gas aggregation agreement with AEP, at a rate presented at the meeting of 0.6499 per CCF for 12 months. The board noted residents may opt out of the aggregate.
The board approved Resolution 25‑1‑14 authorizing payment of annual MBT (terminal access) fees to an Ohio vendor paid from the police fund.
Two actions related to the township’s records‑scanning vendor, Strategic Solutions, were approved. Resolution 25‑1‑15 authorized a then‑amount purchase order (not‑to‑exceed figure discussed at the meeting) to Strategic Solutions for scanning services; Resolution 25‑1‑16 authorized payment of $7,452.32 for public record retention services billed by Strategic Solutions, to be paid from the general fund.
Roll‑call votes were recorded for the motions where required; meeting minutes show the motions were adopted.
The board moved into an executive session at 8:06 p.m. under Ohio Revised Code 121.22(G)(1) to consider personnel matters and announced there may or may not be action afterward.
