Cuyahoga County link deposit programs to conclude Dec. 31; county exploring successor

A staff presenter said the decision follows recent conversations with banking partners, including KeyBank, and that the current iteration of the programs will wind down Dec. 31. “We’re encouraging anybody interested in doing a project through one of those programs to get an application in prior to December 31,” the presenter said.
Staff said the county will continue talks with lending institutions and internal partners, such as housing and community development offices, about the shape of future programs. The presenter noted there is value in Cleveland Restoration Society’s expertise around older-home preservation and that the county has not finalized whether a successor program would preserve separate tracks or merge into a single program.
Ending: Staff said they expect to pursue options next year but that any new program will depend on which institutions and partners join the effort.
