Milton utilities board opens bidding to double Sundial plant capacity; approves minutes and financial report

The Sundial Utilities of Milton board approved the minutes from its July 17 meeting and the Sundial profit-and-loss report for June 2025, and heard staff say a bid solicitation to double the Sundial plant’s capacity will go out this week.
"The bid for the Sundial expansion is going out this week," said Mr. Spears, a city staff member. He said bidders will have about 30 days to submit proposals.
The board voted to approve the minutes as presented after a motion from Councilman Powell and a second from Councilman McKee. Councilman Leake indicated he was in favor despite remote voting glitches. The clerk announced the vote was unanimous.
Councilman Powers moved to approve the June P&L report; Councilwoman Farrow seconded. The clerk again announced the vote was unanimous.
Board members and staff also noted an in-house facilities project to replace the meeting-room projector with a 100-inch monitor. Miss Nowlin was thanked for her leadership on that project, and staff said the work is being performed by the city’s facilities maintenance team.
Meeting organizers acknowledged some participants experienced technical issues casting remote votes during the session; the clerk confirmed the board approved both routine items unanimously.
With no ordinances or resolutions on the agenda and no further Sundial updates, the board recessed and a work session was scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
